At the Munaistenmetsä biogas plant in Uusikaupunki, Biolinja Oy Uusikaupunki processes organic waste from agriculture, industry, and communities. In addition to biogas, the plant produces solid and liquid plant nutrients.
The biogas plant operates as part of a sustainable production model for fish farming and greenhouse cultivation. The complex also includes a bio-oil production plant located next to the biogas plant.
The Munaistenmetsä biogas plant processes organic waste from communities, the food industry, and agriculture, from which biogas and organic plant nutrients are formed during the biogas process. Biogas is converted into electricity and heat energy.
Biolinja produces both liquid plant nutrients and solid soil improvement material suitable for gardening and landscaping.
The Munaistenmetsä biogas plant does not process municipal wastewater sludges, so the plant nutrients are clean and safe to use. The liquid organic fertilizer product Biolinjan Kasvuvoimavesi is also suitable for use in organic farming.
